EDMOND, Okla. — At least 10 people were injured in a shooting at a large gathering of young people near Arcadia Lake on Sunday night, with authorities confirming that victims were transported to multiple hospitals across the Oklahoma City metro area .

Edmond police spokesperson Emily Ward said officers received multiple reports of shots fired at approximately 9 p.m. at a “Sunday Funday” event near the lake, prompting a massive multi-agency response . The location is a popular recreational spot about 13 miles north of Oklahoma City .

‘A Very Terrifying Situation’

“This is obviously a very terrifying situation and we understand the concern from the public and those involved, and we are working extremely hard to find the suspects,” Ward said at a press conference late Sunday night .

Police confirmed that a reunification center had been established at a nearby Walmart for families looking for loved ones . A hospital system spokesperson confirmed that 10 victims were taken to Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City and three were at Integris Health Edmond Hospital .

Witnesses described hearing more than 30 shots fired . One witness said her “cousin and sister were shot,” while another reported being shot in the leg . A photo posted online showed a white sedan with what appeared to be red streaks of blood on its side .

Victims in ‘Various Conditions’

“We’re kind of all over the metro speaking with victims and witnesses,” Ward told reporters, adding that no arrests had been made so far .

She said that while at least 10 people were taken to hospitals by emergency responders, more victims may have driven themselves to area hospitals for treatment . The victims were reported to be in “various conditions,” with officials still assessing the full extent of injuries .

Police have not provided details about the nature of the party, including whether it was tied to a specific celebration, but most attendees were described as young adults or older teenagers .

Police Investigation

The suspect or suspects remain at large, but authorities told the public there is no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat .

A massive multi-agency response including the Edmond Police Department, Oklahoma City Police, Edmond Fire Department, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol rushed to the scene at the Scissortail Campground near the lake .

Authorities are reviewing footage from Flock license plate reader cameras in an effort to identify those responsible, and police believe that two men wearing ski masks opened fire at the party .
