Reflecto News | Breaking News | Middle East
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has strongly condemned Iran’s latest missile and drone strikes against the United Arab Emirates, expressing the Kingdom’s full solidarity with Abu Dhabi during a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan .
The leadership-level condemnation came as the UAE reported intercepting a barrage of 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and four drones launched from Iran on Monday, which left three Indian nationals wounded .

📞 Riyadh’s ‘Strong Denunciation’ of Unjustified Aggression
According to the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed the Kingdom’s “strong condemnation and denunciation of the unjustified Iranian attacks targeting the sisterly United Arab Emirates” .
The Crown Prince also “affirmed the Kingdom’s stand alongside the UAE in defending its security and stability” .
This high-level call underscores the unified stance of the Gulf monarchies against Tehran’s escalating military actions, which have targeted Emirati energy infrastructure and commercial shipping lanes.
🛡️ Escalation in the Strait: ‘Dangerous Escalation’
The attacks, which represent a sharp escalation of hostilities, included a strike by two drones on the MV Barakah, an empty crude oil tanker operated by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), as it transited the Strait of Hormuz .
Additionally, a fire broke out at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone following an Iranian drone strike .
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the attacks a “flagrant violation of UNSC Resolution 2817,” which demands unrestricted navigation in the Strait .
“The kingdom affirms its solidarity with the brotherly United Arab Emirates in the measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and calls on the Islamic Republic of Iran to cease these attacks.”
— Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Statement
🌍 Unified Gulf and International Condemnation
Saudi Arabia is not alone in its response. Other nations and international bodies, including Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, the Arab League, the GCC, the EU, and countries like France, Germany, and Canada, have also condemned Iran’s actions .
- Qatar described the incident as a “blatant violation of international law” .
- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the attacks are unacceptable and constitute a “clear violation of sovereignty” .
- France’s President Macron declared that a lasting solution will only come through the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz .
Despite the diplomatic firestorm and the US military’s “Project Freedom” mission, Tehran has denied the UAE’s accusations. A senior Iranian military figure claimed the incident stemmed from “US military adventurism,” calling for Washington to be held accountable .
As the region edges closer to a broader confrontation, the Crown Prince’s phone call serves as a stark warning to Tehran: an attack on one member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is viewed as an attack on the bloc’s collective security.
